Kathmandu. Chet Prasad Upreti, executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), has been appointed as the chairman of the board of directors of Nepal Clearing House Limited( NCL). He took the oath of office and secrecy along with Deputy Governor Bam Bahadur Mishra at today’s official ceremony. Earlier, executive director Bishrut Thapa was in the post.
Chet Prasad Upreti has more than 27 years of experience in various departments of the central bank and is an MBA degree holder from Tribhuvan University. At present, Upreti is associated with rastra bank’s non-bank financial institution supervision department as executive director.
Nepal Rastra Bank, Commercial Bank, Development Bank and financial companies are on the steering committee of The Nepal Clearing House. NCHL is a company promoted by Nepal Rastra Bank and banks and financial institutions to establish national payment systems in Nepal.
