Kathmandu. Sanima Reliance Life has completed training on money laundering and prevention of terrorist financing. The company has provided training to the members of the board of directors, basic shareholders and departmental heads.
Director of Insurance Authority Shamb Raj Lamichhane and Deputy Director Sabita Thapa provided training on money laundering and problems faced by financial institutions in terrorist activities and their solutions.
During the training, discussions were held on the duties and rights of the Board of Directors, including making proper arrangements for necessary policies, procedures, control system, human resources and resources, to effectively carry out the works as per the Act, Rules and Directives related to money laundering and prevention of financial investment in terrorist activities.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the program, Ratan Lal Kedia, Chairman of the company, said that the company would fulfill the obligations provided in the Money Laundering Act and Regulations formulated on the basis of good practices at the national and international level regarding money laundering and the concepts established thereon.
Chief Executive Officer of the company, Shivnath Pandey, highlighted the importance of prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing and pledged to follow it in letter and spirit at all employees and levels of the company.
He also said that they would leave no stone unturned in complying with this guideline. On the occasion of the promulgation of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2064 BS, the Government of Nepal has decided to observe The Prevention of Money Laundering Day every year.
