Kathmandu. The British Council has announced the commencement of the Connection Through Culture (CTC) Grant 2025. Under the CTC, the British Council has invited Nepali artists, cultural workers and creative organisations to apply for grants to collaborate with partners in the UK.

In the current situation where the need for global collaboration is critical, the program will provide grants of up to 10,000 pounds (about 1.82 million Nepali rupees) to projects connecting the creative communities of Nepal and other countries.

The program will support initiatives that aim to foster mutual understanding, initiate innovative dialogues, and build long-term international partnerships, including joint residency of artists from different countries, exhibition of joint works, staging, research, and digital storytelling.

Rustom Modi, Country Director, British Council Nepal, said, “This event empowers artists and art organisations from both countries to envision a shared future. Through shared creativity and mutual respect, we are witnessing the expansion of a meaningful transnational partnership and its impact will be long-term. ”

In the 2025 edition of this program, applicants have been opened from 19 partner countries of The United Kingdom, Asia Pacific and Europe, including Nepal. This year, the British Council aims to fund about 90 projects, prioritizing art work focused specifically on global issues such as climate change, diversity and inclusion, and equality in the arts.

Jill Richens, regional art director at the British Council South Asia, said: “Connection through culture is more a catalyst for creativity, collaboration, and change than a grant. We are proud to support projects that not only create artistic innovation but also bridges between cultures and communities. ”
