Citizen Investment Fund’s interest income shrinks by 32%, profit rises

Kathmandu. The Citizen Investment Fund (CIT) has released the revised financial statements for the third quarter of the current fiscal year (July-April).

The fund has earned a net profit of Rs 899 million till the review period. In the same period last year, the fund had earned a profit of Rs 882.4 million. During the review period, the fund’s profit increased by 1.88 percent.

The interest income of the fund declined by 32.03 percent to Rs 240.1 million during the review period. In the same period last year, the interest income of the fund was Rs 353.2 million. In the last nine months, the fund has earned Rs 1.19 billion in service charges and commissions. In the same period last year, such income was Rs 1.04 billion.

The fund’s reserve capital has increased by 13.21 percent to rs 372.14 billion from the paid-up capital of Rs 6.48 billion. In the same period last year, the fund’s reserves stood at Rs 265.61 billion.

At the end of the review period, the total investment of the fund was Rs 278.43 billion. In the same period last year, the total investment of the fund was Rs 236.80 billion.

The fund’s earnings per share (EPS) declined to Rs 18.49. In the same period last year, the EPS was Rs 22.14. The net worth of the fund is Rs 147.45 per share with 5.69 per cent return on investment.
