India plans to suspend air passenger insurance amid tensions between Pakistan and Pakistan

Kathmandu. Global and Indian reinsurance companies are preparing to implement war-related provisions in air service insurance due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. They may decide to cancel the policy or continue with the implementation of the provisions related to the war.

According to the Asian Insurance Post, global and Indian reinsurance companies have decided not to pay any claim to travel insurers who cannot travel due to the closure of airports and cancellation of flights due to ongoing Indo-Pak tensions.

Customers who have not been able to fly due to Indian military action can only withdraw the ticket amount from the respective airlines and will not be able to pay any insurance claim for their travel insurance policy.

A total of 27 airports in northern, western and central India have been closed for commercial operations till 5.29 am on Saturday, May 10, causing major disruption in air traffic. Indian airlines cancelled 850 flights on Thursday.
