Kathmandu. The new business of life insurance companies has increased by 27.22 percent. According to nepal insurance authority data, the new business of life insurers has increased compared to the same period last year. In the nine months of the current fiscal year, 14 life insurance companies have collected Rs 24.40 billion in first insurance premium. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the companies had collected Rs 19.17 billion in first insurance premium. Compared to the same period last year, the first insurance premium of the companies has increased by 27 percent.
Nepal Life has collected the highest number of insurance premiums in the current fiscal year. The company has collected Rs 5.99 billion in first insurance premium. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 38.78 percent. The second is National Life. The company has collected Rs 3.66 billion in first insurance premium during this period. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 21 percent. LIC Nepal is in third place. The company has collected Rs 1.89 billion in first insurance premium during the period. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 25.37 percent.
Similarly, Suryajyoti Life has collected Rs 1.81 billion in first insurance premium. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 29 percent. Himalayan Life has collected Rs 1.75 billion in first insurance premium. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 6.78 percent.

Similarly, Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life has collected Rs 955.7 million in first insurance premium. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 51 percent. IME Life Insurance has collected Rs 932.8 million in first insurance premium. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 21 percent. The National Life Insurance Company has collected Rs 860.8 million in the first insurance premium. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased its new business by 100 percent. Sun Nepal Life has collected Rs 722.4 million in first insurance premium. Compared to the previous year, the company has increased new business by 64 percent.
