Kathmandu. The incident took place about 177 km from Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, India. The incident left the police officers sleepy. The incident took place on August 12, 2024.
There was a Gandsi police station at that place. A woman came to the police station and said, “My husband was run over by a lorry. He died. ’
The woman, Shilpa Rani, told the police that her daughter was studying in Mangaluru and was returning after meeting her. The tyre of his car punctured near the Arsikere area and his driver Somes began to change the tires. Shilpa said, “My husband Muniswamy Gowda was coming from behind with a stepney when a speeding lorry came and crushed him. Died on the spot. ’
Police registered a case and launched an investigation. A team was also deployed to search for the lorry. Shilpa identified the body and cremated her husband after completing the paperwork.
Initially, the police felt that Shilpa was mourning her husband’s death. So it was not appropriate to interrogate him at that time, and a few days passed like this.
Within a few days, the police arrested the driver of the lorry. However, some such developments in the meantime raised doubts among the police officials. When the police started investigating the case a few days later, it came to light that Shilpa had made a special request to the doctors. She requested that her husband’s dead body face be covered with as many bandages as possible. The police could not understand why Shilpa made such a request?
तीन question complicates the issue#inline_tags_PLACEHOLDER_14#
While the police were caught up in this mystery, another shocking thing came to light. It was revealed that Shilpa had claimed Rs 4 crore from her husband’s insurance. Police officers were even more alarmed. The post-mortem report of Shilpa’s husband added to their suspicions. The post-mortem report stated that the man was strangulated to death before the accident.
Now the issue had become very complicated. Shilpa’s request to doctors, including claims of insurance money and the post-mortem report, were pointing to the fact that the story of this case was not what they were told.

It was during this time that Muniswamy watched superstar Rajinikanth’s Tamil film ‘Shivaji: The Boss’ and an idea came to his mind. Rajinikanth’s character in the film is considered dead. In June 2024, Muniswamy started looking for someone who looked like him. After a few days of hard work, he found a garbage collector who was exactly like himself in height and texture. Muniswamy befriended the man and started giving him some food and money daily. He was working on a strong plan. So he also checked the blood group of the person who picked this garbage.
About two months later, Muniswamy hired a lorry driver named Nayaka. He bought a new lorry and gave Rs 5 lakh in cash to Nayaka. On August 12, 2024, he took a garbage collector with him on the pretext of taking him for a walk and strangled him to death as soon as he got the opportunity.
Later, Naika fired a lorry on the deceased man. Muniswamy had planned that Shilpa would get the insurance money after making a false story of his death. He had planned to repay all his debts with insurance money and go to Nepal and live in hiding. However, his own relatives foiled his plan.
Police have also arrested Shilpa and Somes. However, the mystery of who was the person who picked the garbage is not yet known. The case is currently going on in court. – From The Indian Express
