Debojo Mehrishi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet, said, “We will operate daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Kathmandu, one of the most sought-after routes in the region. This new route is a testament to our commitment to enhance connectivity and provide passengers with more affordable and convenient flight options.

SpiceJet’s recent times have strengthened its international presence, including destinations like Dubai and Bangkok. Since raising Rs 30 billion (48 billion Nepali rupees) through QIP, the airline has rapidly expanded its domestic network.

According to SpiceJet, the flight from Delhi to Kathmandu will depart from Delhi at 8.10 am (Indian time) and land in Kathmandu at 9.55 am (Nepali time). Similarly, the return flight will depart from Kathmandu at 10:55 am (local time). SpiceJet will fly on this route with a Boeing 737 aircraft.

With the presence of the budget airline (low facilities but cheap fares), the airfare on the Kathmandu-Delhi route is expected to be cheaper. Currently, Nepal Airlines, IndiGo and Air India are operating flights on this route. Indian air service companies have been charging rs 18,000 to Rs 24,000 on the Kathmandu-Delhi route in recent times. The cheapest fare of Delhi-Kathmandu route is around Rs 10,000.

SpiceJet has fixed the minimum fare for the Kathmandu-Delhi route at Rs 19,000. Similarly, the minimum fare of The Delhi-Kathmandu route is half the cheapest i.e. Rs 9,300.

With the construction and expansion of the tacky way on the runway of Tribhuvan International Airport starting, most passengers prefer to fly from Bhadrapur in Jhapa to nearby Bagdogada (Siliguri, West Bengal) airport to Delhi and other Indian cities. This Indian airport is located at a distance of 40 kilometers from Bhadrapur Chandragadhi Airport.
