Kathmandu. Koshi Province and Madhes Province team have won the friendly sports tournament organized by Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Financial Institution for the first time.
Heads of branch offices in Koshi Province, Madhes Province and Bagmati Province and departmental chiefs and employees of central offices enthusiastically participated in the friendly games held at Jeevan Bikas Public School premises on Friday and Saturday.
The Koshi Province team of Jeevan Bikash has won the title of friendly football. Koshi Province team won the title by defeating Central Office 4-1 in the final.
Koshi defeated Madhes Province 4-0 while Central Office defeated Bagmati Province team 5-0 to enter the final. Yogendra Mandal, founder of Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Financial Institution and an independent lawmaker from Morang constituency-5, handed over the trophy and medal to the koshi state team. Chairman of Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Financial Institution Bikram Raj Subedi handed over the trophy and medal to the runners-up central office team.
Koshi Province has also won the title in the cricket category. Koshi won the cricket title by defeating The Madhes Province team of Jeevan Bikash. Board member Indra Narayan Dev Baishya handed over the prizes to the winning team.
Madhes Province team has won the kabaddi title. Madhes Province team won the title by defeating Koshi Province in the final.
Koshi defeated Bagmati Province to make it to the final of kabaddi, while Madhes Province defeated Central Office to make it to the last two. Prakash Kumar Shrestha and Shyam Chandra Khatiwada presented trophies and medals to the winning team. Gokarna Khatiwada handed over the prizes to the team of Koshi, runners-up in kabaddi.
Manisha Bhandari, head of Amardaha branch, won the first prize in the musical chair competition organized by Jeevan Bikash. Jeevan Bikas Koshi province chief Savitri Shrestha came second in the musical chair while Shakuntala Rajbanshi, head of Bhardaha branch of Saptari, came third.
Giriraj Bhandari stood first in the spoon race. Anil Kumar Sah and Pramod Sharma finished second and third respectively. Diwakar Rajbanshi became the first runner-up in the sio thread race. Bishan Shrestha and Deepak Rajbanshi finished second and third respectively. Board member Ashok Sitaula and Dr Bandana Jain presented the awards to the winners.
Jeevan Bikas, which has been providing financial services through 160 branch offices in 31 districts, organized friendly sports for the first time. Chief Executive Officer of the organization Sanjay Kumar Mandal said that the competition has been organized for the first time to instill intimacy among the employees. “We have organized the sports meet with the aim of instilling a sense of intimacy among the employees and strengthening teamwork,” mandal said, adding, “We believe that it will boost the morale of the employees and give more energy to achieve institutional goals.” ’
