Kathmandu. The government has decided to appoint outgoing Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari as a vacant member of the Governor’s Recommendation Committee.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday decided to appoint Adhikari as a member of the committee formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel. The government has decided to bring Adhikari to the place after former governor BijayaNath Bhattarai resigned from the committee. Another member of the committee is Former Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission Prof Dr Bishwanath Poudel.
Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML) have agreed to appoint Dr Gunakar Bhatta as the new governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). Bhatta has also resigned from the Rastra Bank.
However, Nilam Dhungana Timsina, who took over as acting governor after Adhikari’s term ended on April 15, has not accepted Bhatta’s resignation.
