Kathmandu. Govinda Ghimire, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NMB Bank, has formally taken charge of his office from today. Ghimire, who has more than three decades of banking experience, has been associated with NMB Bank for the last 16 years. Ghimire, who has also led various departments and branches of the bank and gained experience, was earlier the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the bank. He has been contributing significantly to the expansion and improvement of the bank’s services.
His contributions have been particularly significant in the bank’s business, finance, credit risk management, strategic planning and operational reforms. He has played an active role in improving the operating system of NMB Bank, expanding technology-based services and advancing sustainable banking practices. Nmb Bank believes that the banking experience will lead NMB Bank on the path of further progress and prosperity.
Newly appointed Executive Officer Govinda Ghimire, while taking over as chief executive officer, expressed the following views to the board of directors and management of the bank for the upcoming plans and progress of the bank.
“My priority will be to focus on innovation, sustainable partnerships and inclusive financial services, which will make the bank more effective and meaningful. With the inclusion of digital technology and new thinking, we will work with customers, communities and nations to bring sustainable and positive change. ” he said.
Sudesh Upadhyaya, the current Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the bank, has taken over as the Senior Deputy Chief Executive Officer with effect from today. Upadhyay, who has worked in domestic and foreign banks, is considered to be a banker with deep knowledge of international trade and international relations as well as banking business.
