Kathmandu. As part of its social responsibility, Citizen Life Insurance Company Limited has provided adequate food supplies to ‘Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal’, which is currently protecting about 130 orphans and helpless children of the Badi community in Karnali State of Nepal.
Under this support program, the company has provided essential consumables including rice, pulses, oil, which is expected to directly support the nutrition of the children dependent on the organization.
The Badi community is one of the most marginalized and historically oppressed and still socio-economically vulnerable communities in Nepal. Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal, run by Hikmat Badi, has been working as a non-profit social organization with the objective of guiding women, children and families of the community towards education, shelter, health and self-reliance.
At present, more than 130 children are provided safe housing, nutrition and education facilities through the organization.
Chief Marketing Management Officer of Citizen Life Insurance Company Bhusan Rimal and Chief Business Officer Dhoj Bahadur Khadka along with other officials of the office handed over food items to Hikmat Badi, Director of Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal.
It is expected that this support of Citizen Life will be of some help in running Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal.
