Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order not to immediately implement the amendment to remove the age limit in the appointment of governors.
A single bench of Justice Nityananda Pandey on Tuesday issued an interim order in the name of the government not to immediately implement the criteria of removing the age limit in the appointment of governor. Advocates Pratibha Upreti and Bishal Thapa had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on Sunday.
The Ministry of Finance had amended the Criteria for Appointment and Nomination of Office-bearers and Members in public bodies related to finance on March 29, 2073 and removed the age limit for appointment of office-bearers and members. Earlier, there was an age limit of 30 to 65 years in the appointment of office-bearers and members.
