Number of women taking out term insurance in India increases by 18%

Kathmandu. Women’s attraction towards insurance has been found to be increasing in neighboring India.

According to data released by Policybazaar, the number of women taking term insurance in India has increased by 18 percent in 2024 compared to 2023. Among women taking term insurance, 49 percent are employed, 39 percent are housewives, and 12 percent are self-employed women.

48 percent of women taking term insurance in India are between the ages of 31 and 40. Similarly, 44 percent of women who have term insurance of more than Rs 10 million are women.

A report by Policybazaar states that about 90 percent of women are interested in paying monthly insurance premiums.

In addition, the number of women joining health insurance in India has also increased by 22 percent.
