Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari will be on a 10-day ‘force leave’ from tomorrow, Chaitra 5th.
It is a tradition for the Governor of the Rastra Bank to go on force leave to complete his accumulated leave before the end of his term. As per the same tradition, Governor Adhikari will also be on a 10-day force leave.
The officer was appointed as the Governor of the Rastra Bank on Chaitra 24, 2076. His five-year term will end on Chaitra 24.
According to Dr. Bhagwat Acharya, Information Officer of the Rastra Bank, Governor Adhikari is going on a 10-day leave as he has to take a leave before the end of his term. ‘The accumulated leave should be completed before the end of the term,’ he said, ‘that is why he is going on force leave.’
Acharya informed that Governor Adhikari will appear at the National Bank again on Chaitra 15. ‘After that, he will be dismissed with a program on Chaitra 24,’ he said.
While Governor Adhikari is on leave, Deputy Governor Dr. Nilam Dhungana Timsina will take over the responsibility of the acting governor.
The Council of Ministers meeting held on Falgun 21 has already formed a governor appointment recommendation committee under the coordination of Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel. The committee members include former Governor Vijayanath Bhattarai and Dr. Bishwa Poudel, an expert in the field of financial management.
