Kathmandu. Rasuwa: A huge quantity of gold was seized on Sunday while it was being brought to Kathmandu from Rasuwa.
According to Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Arjun Poudel, a team of The District Police Office recovered the gold while it was being brought in a container from Rasuwagadhi border point. “The gold was being hidden by making false bottoms,” he said.
Police have arrested the driver of the gold and container. CDO Poudel informed that the seized gold has been sent to the Customs Office for measurement. “The driver has been kept under the control of the district police,” he said.
According to Rasuwa Police Sources, more than 7.5 kg of gold has been recovered. “Customs will check the exact quantity of gold,” he said.
