YouTube is going to start the work of finding the age of users to keep children away from wrong video content. It is also a step taken for young people to use social media properly.
YouTube says that this technology has been designed to find out whether the user is an adult or a child. The age will be determined by AI through the user’s activity.
YouTube has said that this technology will be tested to find the age of limited American users at present. It will be expanded globally in the coming days.
If the user is found to be children, YouTube will automatically adopt a security mechanism. At the same time, children’s access to some sensitive and inaccurate material will be closed.
Users will have to upload government identity cards, credit cards and age proof certificates to prove that they are not children.
