Kathmandu. On the occasion of Global Money Week, the Bagmati Province (Chitwan) Committee of the Nepal Bankers Association is organizing various awareness-raising financial literacy programs.
Every year, Global Money Week is celebrated nationwide in coordination with the National Bank. This time, this campaign is being celebrated from March 17 to 23. The program is being celebrated with the slogan ‘Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow’.
In this context, the Bagmati Province of the Bankers Association has organized a large rally on Friday with the participation of various banks and financial institutions of A, B, and C classes with the aim of increasing financial literacy and awareness among the youth. In addition, various programs were organized to promote financial literacy and expand access, as well as to raise awareness about the basic aspects of financial services.
Such programs are important to address the increasing use of digital technology and the challenges it poses, as well as to increase the financial awareness of today’s youth. This campaign has been conducted globally every year since 2012 in coordination with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The OECD has stated that about 60 million children, adolescents and young people in more than 176 countries of the world have benefited from this campaign so far.
