Us State Department cancels visas of 6,000 students

Kathmandu. The Us State Department has revoked the visas of more than 6,000 international students for violating US laws and overstaying.

According to the ministry, most of these incidents are related to drunken driving, theft and “supporting terrorism”. The action is part of the Trump administration’s tough immigration policy. Under this, international students have also been tightened.

However, the Ministry of External Affairs did not specify what it means to “support terrorism”. The Trump administration has also cracked down on some students who protested in support of Palestine and accused them of anti-Semitic behavior.

“4,000 of the 6,000 visas have been revoked for violating the law,” the foreign ministry told the BBC. Apart from this, 200 to 300 visas have been canceled in terrorism related cases under INA 3B. ’
