Kathmandu. Chairman of The House of Commerce Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal has said that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year is development-oriented and somewhat ambitious.
He was speaking at a post-budget discussion programme organised by the Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal (NAFIJ) in Kathmandu on Saturday. He said that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year has come to promote investment. He expressed happiness that IT and technology have been taken into consideration.
He said that the policy of providing loans up to Rs 2 million to the youth at 3 percent interest is welcome. He believes that this policy will reduce the number of youths going abroad.
Similarly, the budget for the tourism sector is also good, agrawal said. Stating that it would have been better if the tax on air tickets had been removed, he stressed the need for the government to pay attention to it.
Similarly, Agrawal said that the economy is expected to improve due to the provision of current loans. According to him, the issues of river-based excavation have also come up as per international standards, so it should be very easy.
Stating that there is a lot of problem in export to India, Agarwal said that there is a need to improve it as well. Similarly, there is a need to pay attention to the source of revenue, he added.
Agarwal also said that the reduction in subsidies coming from big countries will affect the economy. Similarly, he said it was necessary to make arrangements for refinance in case of contraction in business, adding that this should be addressed through monetary policy.
