Kathmandu. The U.S. and China are set to hold talks this week on a trade war.
Officials from the world’s two largest economies are set to hold talks to ease tensions caused by the trade war. The talks will be held in Switzerland from May 9 to 12, according to china’s foreign ministry.
Vice President He Lifeng will participate in the talks on behalf of China. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer will attend the meeting.
After becoming the US President, Donald Trump has imposed a 145 percent tariff on goods coming from China. On the other hand, China has also imposed tariffs of up to 125 percent on some American goods.
This will be the first high-level talks between the two major countries since January. Experts believe that the talks between the US and China will be fruitful in balancing the global economy. – Agency
