Kathmandu. The biggest health insurance fraud case in Us history has been exposed.
With the help of the US Department of Justice, the FBI has exposed the health insurance fraud case. The FBI has arrested 324 members of the gang involved in the case. There are 96 doctors, nurses and pharmacy operators.
It has been revealed that this gang has a network across the US. They have so far been duped of $14.6 billion in health insurance.
At present, 50 federal courts and 12 state attorney general’s offices are facing cases related to health insurance fraud. In these cases, it has been revealed that health insurance money has been cheated in the name of more than one million American citizens.
The U.S. government has so far seized $245 million worth of houses, cars and other properties from those arrested. “An investigation is underway into the assets of those arrested and further confiscation of the property will continue,” the Justice Department said.
According to the FBI, the gang stole the man’s personal details and obtained health insurance and submitted fake claim details from the hospital to the government. According to the FBI investigation, the gang members were citizens of Kazakhstan, Estonia, Pakistan, and other countries, doctors and organizations. This has deprived millions of Americans of access to health insurance benefits from the government.
The gang involved in the fraud had been claiming luxurious life by withdrawing the amount of health insurance. The FBI said it was investigating the suspects with criminal charges. –agency
