Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Two directors of Nepal Reinsurance Company (Nepal Re-Insurance) have resigned from their posts following a protest by its employees.
Emil Pradhan and Bal Krishna Dahal have tendered their resignations to the board of directors. However, their resignations have not been accepted by the Board of Directors. Pradhan was the promoter of the company while Poudel was the independent director.
The employees had demanded the resignation of the directors, saying that they were colluding with middlemen to sink the business. After the resignation of two directors, the Nepal Ricoh Board has become incomplete.
The employees had been protesting since September 15 against the government-owned Nepal Ricoh Profit Third Party Motor Insurance Company Limited (HIC) for handing over the motor insurance business to Himalayan Reinsurance. They also demanded that the government take action against the board of directors who were involved in wrong activities with bad intentions.
The Jenji agitation of September 23 and 24 has caused major damage to the physical infrastructure. The responsibility of this riot insurance is only with Nepal Riley. In this difficult situation, it seems that the claim for compensation of the insured property during the Genji movement will not be available on time as the Nepal Ricoh Board is in the dark. It seems that the Ministry of Finance has not paid much attention to this.
