According to the new rates, the US will impose tariffs of 34 percent on China, 20 percent on the EU, 24 percent on Japan and 27 percent on India. The announcement of the tariffs has spread panic in Asian stock markets, with Japan’s situation showing the worst.
Japan’s Nikkei index has fallen more than 4.5 percent after Donald Trump announced the tariffs. The Nikkei index has fallen to 34,102. Which is the lowest level in the last 8 months. The US has imposed a 24 percent tariff on Japan.
The Asia-Pacific stock market has fallen sharply after US President Trump imposed reciprocal tariffs on more than 180 countries. South Korea’s KOSPI index has fallen by about 3 percent since it opened. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is trading in the red zone at 23,094 points, which is lower than the previous trading day.
