Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in South Korea on Monday.
While the tariff issue has been addressed, a deal has also been reached to resume soybean purchases, a major headache for Trump. Trump said he would reduce China’s tariffs by 10 percent from 57 percent to 47 percent. “I had an excellent meeting with the Chinese President and a lot of important decisions were taken,” he said. According to Trump, China will resume soybean purchases immediately.
Trump and Xi Jinping held closed-door talks for more than two hours in Busan, South Korea. Trump also claimed to have solved problems such as rare earth materials and chips. It has been a major source of tension between the US and China for some time.
Trump also said that there will be no obstacles to the flow of Chinese exports to the United States.
