Kathmandu. The Trump administration has abolished Harvard University’s right to enroll international students. For this reason, the deadlock with America’s oldest university has now increased.
“The Trump administration has suspended Harvard’s international student enrollment program for failing to comply with the law,” Us Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noam wrote on social media platform X. ’
“This is a warning to all universities and educational institutions across the country,” she added.
In a statement, Harvard University called the move “illegal”. In response to the Trump administration’s move, Harvard University said, “We are committed to maintaining the ability to enroll our international students and scholars coming here from more than 140 countries and to make the university and this nation so wealthy.” ’
“We are working swiftly to gather guidance and support from our community members. This retaliatory action threatens to cause serious harm to the Harvard community and our country. It also undermines Harvard’s educational and research campaign. ’
The Trump administration’s decision could affect thousands of international students studying at Harvard University. More than 6,700 international students enrolled in the last academic year, according to Harvard University data. This is 27 percent of the total number of students. – Agensusie
