Kathmandu. The list of the safest countries in the world has been made public.
The US, the UK or any powerful European country did not make it to the top 10 of the safest countries. Instead, Andorra, a small country in southwestern Europe located between Spain and France, has topped the list.
According to the Numbeo Safety Index, Andorra is the safest country in the world. The country is ranked based on its standard of living and crime rate.
Similarly, the United Arab Emirates is second on the list after Andorra. Qatar is third, Taiwan and Oman are fourth and fifth respectively in the list of safest countries. However, Taiwan is not recognized internationally as an independent nation. But it presents itself as an independent entity from China.
The United States, with the world’s most powerful military and high technological capabilities, is not even in the top 50 safest countries. The United States is ranked 89th in the list of the safest countries in the world. While the United Kingdom is ranked 87th in the ranking. Compared to these two, India is much higher in the ranking.
Nepal is ranked 47th in the list of the safest countries in the world, while neighboring India is ranked 66th.
Another neighbor, China, is ranked 15th in this list. Out of the total 147 countries included in the list, Venezuela is at the bottom. Then there are Papua New Guinea (146), Haiti (145), Afghanistan (144) and South Africa (143).
