Kathmandu. A horrific conspiracy has been busted in Latur district of Maharashtra, India. Where a man faked his own death to get insurance money. He murdered an innocent stranger, burned his car, and convinced his family that he was dead. However, the message sent to his girlfriend has exposed his entire conspiracy.

On Sunday morning, police found a burnt body in a completely burnt car in Ausa taluka of Maharashtra’s Latur district. Police investigation revealed that the owner of the burnt car was Ganesh Chavan. The police tried to contact Ganesh. However, his family members said that he did not return home. His phone was switched off. Ganesh was a bank recovery agent.

Based on these facts, the police initially believed that the body found in the burnt car was that of Ganesh. Latur Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe said, “This was the conclusion of the preliminary investigation. ’

The next day, on Monday, as the investigation progressed, many things began to look suspicious. The police team started investigating Ganesh’s personal life and discovered that he was in an affair with a woman. The police questioned the woman. During interrogation, the woman revealed that Ganesh had sent her messages and chatted with her from a different mobile number even after the incident.

The woman’s statement confirmed that Ganesh, who was presumed dead, is still alive. The police tracked down the second number and arrested Ganesh in Vijaydurg of Sindhudurg district.

During interrogation, Ganesh said that he had taken a life insurance policy of Rs 1 crore. He wanted to use the money to pay off his home loan. So he faked his own death.

On Saturday, Ganesh gave a lift to an unknown man, Govind Yadav, in his car at Tuljapur T-junction in Ausa. According to the police, Yadav was drunk and Ganesh took advantage of it. They stopped at a dhaba and then headed towards the Wanwada Pati-Wanwada road. After parking the car, Yadav had dinner and slept inside the car.

Ganesh then put Yadav in the driver’s seat and tied him with a seat belt. They put a matchstick and a plastic bag on the seat and set it on fire. The car was completely gutted and Yadav died on the spot.

To confuse the police and convince the family, Ganesh had left his wrist bracelet near the body. Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe said, “A case of murder has been registered and it is being investigated whether any other accomplices of Ganesh were in this conspiracy.” ’
