Tata Group to pay Rs 1 crore compensation to families of Air India plane crash victims

Kathmandu. New Delhi: The Tata Group has announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of those killed in an Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Economic Times and BBC, the company’s chairman N Chandrasekaran made the announcement on Thursday evening.

Air India is owned by the Tata Group. The Tata group said it will bear all medical expenses of those injured in the accident. It will also help in the reconstruction of the hostel of BJ Medical College, which was damaged in the accident.

No words are enough in this hour of grief. We express our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” Chandrasekaran said in a statement published on social networking site X.

Ahmedabad: An Air India flight with 242 passengers on board crashed in Ahmedabad on Saturday, police said. A total of 210 bodies have been recovered from the accident site.

The Boeing Dreamliner plane was on its way to Gatwick Airport in the UK. According to Air India, the plane crashed into a nearby dormitory building within 30 seconds of take-off.

Air India said it is collecting details about the crash and will publish regular updates on its website and social media.
