Kathmandu. Another tragic incident of insurance fraud has taken place in neighboring India. ADCP Greater Noida has uncovered the incident of a son killing his father to get the insurance money. This incident took place on December 2, 2024. The police have uncovered the details of this murder case after arresting the son involved in the incident.
The murder was committed by Prakash Bosak. He had come to Noida with his son Santosh 20 years ago. Police investigation has revealed that Santosh stabbed Prakash to death with a plan to steal the insurance money in his father’s name and get the bank loan waived.
The ancestral home of the Bosak family is Bohragaun in Kishanganj, Bihar. Prakash and his elder son Santosh were currently living in Bishwana village in Bulandshahr, Noida. According to the police, Prakash and his son Santosh had bought a house in Bulandshahr in 2022 by taking a loan of Rs 12.50 lakh from a private bank. The monthly installment was Rs 12,500.
After finding it difficult to pay the installments every month, Prakash and Santosh thought of taking another loan. They took a second loan of about Rs 2.1 lakh from Housing Finance. After paying off the old loan with the same amount, Santosh deposited the remaining Rs 7.69 lakh in the bank account of his firm PSG Masala. The loan installment was about Rs 27,000 per month. Which was very high. For the first few months, there was no problem in paying the bank installments, but gradually the money in Santosh’s account started running out and their work was not going well.
Santosh knew that his father Prakash had taken two life insurance policies worth Rs 25-25 lakhs. Prakash had made his wife the beneficiary of the policy. The other members of the family were not aware of this.
Santosh planned to kill his father and snatch Rs 50 lakhs. Santosh, with a vegetable cutter in his bag from home, went to Delhi with his father. On his way back, he stopped his scooter at a sorghum field on a dirt road near Vishwana village in Secunderabad. He then took a knife from his bag and slit his father’s throat.
To avoid the police from suspecting him, Santosh cut his chest with a knife and made a wound. He gave a statement to the police that an unknown person had stabbed him. After the murder, Santosh made a death certificate for his father and within 3 months, he claimed an insurance policy of Rs 50 lakh in his mother’s name. When the money arrived in his mother’s bank account, Santosh took his mother’s fingerprints and deposited the amount in his bank account.
The police investigated the incident for a long time but could not find anything. However, when Santosh claimed his father’s death in the insurance company in his mother’s name, the police became suspicious. After that, the police increased their surveillance on Santosh. After learning that he had withdrawn money from his account, the police arrested Santosh.
After that, during interrogation by the police, Santosh confessed to killing his father. Then the police presented him in court. The court has already sent Santosh to jail. – Agency
