Rs 1.5 billion disbursed in agriculture and livestock insurance subsidy

Kathmandu. Last fiscal year 2080 bs, the government provided insurance fees for agriculture and animal insurance. More than Rs 1.5 billion has been disbursed in 82.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has provided rs 1.61 billion as insurance subsidy. The Ministry has been providing the grant amount under the Working Procedure 2081 BS for providing subsidy on crop and livestock insurance fees.

Economic Survey 2080. A grant of Rs 337.9 million was distributed for crop insurance and Rs 1.27 billion for livestock and fish insurance.

Fiscal year 2080. Under agricultural crop and livestock insurance, non-life insurers and micro-life insurers collected a total of Rs 2.02 billion in insurance premium.

According to the procedure, 80 percent subsidy will be given on insurance up to Rs 5 million, 65 percent on insurance from Rs 5 million to Rs 10 million and 50 percent on insurance cover of more than Rs 10 million.

According to The Insurance Authority of Nepal, the current fiscal year 2081. A total of 99,790 agricultural insurance policies have been issued till Mid-March 2018. Similarly, rs 773.4 million has been provided for livestock insurance and Rs 74.6 million for crop insurance.
