Kathmandu. Tensions between India and Pakistan have reached an all-time high after the Pahalgam terror attack. Hours after India imposed a complete ban on imports from Pakistan and banned Pakistani vessels from entering Indian ports, Pakistan has also closed its ports for Indian ships.
The Ports and Shipping Wing of the Pakistan Maritime Affairs Ministry issued an order late Saturday night saying that in view of the maritime situation, Pakistan will take several steps with immediate effect to protect its maritime sovereignty, economic interests and national security. Indian flag carriers will not be able to come to any Pakistani port.
Earlier, the Indian government had taken a strong decision and banned all types of imported goods coming from Pakistan or through Pakistan. Pakistani ships were also banned from entering Indian ports. Indian ships travelling to Pakistani ports were also banned. Along with this, India has also stopped postal and parcel services with Pakistan.
This decision was taken by the Government of India in the wake of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. In which 26 people were killed. Most of them were tourists.
India has not only called it a heinous act of terrorism, but also said that it is committed to taking decisive and concrete action against terrorism and its supporters.
