Kathmandu. Employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have said that their agitation is continuing.

According to Dhungana, the two employees’ union members and SEBON president Santosh Narayan Shrestha held informal talks this afternoon. “He had said that he would convince other members of the board of directors to go to the court for legal remedy regarding the decision of the Ministry of Finance. If he convinces other operators and decides to go for legal remedies, then we can think of stopping the agitation. ’

However, as of this evening, Chairman Shrestha has not been able to get any of the directors to agree to go for legal remedies, according to one of the protesting employees. “It is understood that other operators have replied that they cannot stand against the government’s decision,” the employee said, “Therefore, our agitation will not stop immediately until the board of Sebon takes a proper decision.”

Employees have been agitating for the past one and a half months over the decision of the Ministry of Finance to cut off their perks. The employees have been protesting since the Ministry of Finance wrote a letter to the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on September 2. The employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have demanded that the revenue secretary-level decision to scrap the working procedure issued by the Board of Directors of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) should be revoked immediately.

All work has come to a standstill due to the employees’ strike. The employees have also padlocked the office demanding the resignation of Chairman Shrestha.

A meeting of the Board of Directors of Sebon held at the Ministry of Finance on Thursday also ended inconclusively. The meeting did not take any decision on going to court to seek legal basis for the decision of the Ministry of Finance.
