Kathmandu. Oriental Insurance Company (LIC) has provided financial assistance of Rs. 2 million to the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund established by the Government of Nepal for the reconstruction of public and government physical infrastructures damaged due to the Genji Movement that took place on September 7 and 24.
The cheque was handed over by the company’s Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Joshi to Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal amidst a function held at the Ministry of Finance. The program was also attended by Mr. T. Chakraborty, CEO of Nepal Office and other senior officials of the office.
The company’s Chairman and Managing Director Joshi is currently on a visit to Nepal Office from December 17 to 6 with the main objective of the visit is to contribute to the development, expansion and social responsibility of insurance business in Nepal. During the visit, Joshi also inaugurated the sale of Overseas Medical Claim Insurance, a new insurance policy for foreign travelers and students going abroad.
The company has a branch office in Nepal. The company, established in 2024 AD, has been providing direct insurance coverage of property, motor, marine, engineering, personal accident, health insurance as well as reinsurance with local insurance companies.
