Kathmandu. Now, the government has fixed the same medical fee to be paid for foreign employment in any country where labour permit has been granted.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has issued a circular to all the medical practitioners asking them to maintain the same medical fee. The Ministry has directed the government to charge Rs 9,500 for conducting 34 types of tests to be effective from November 26.
Earlier, the Nepali medical entrepreneurs were charging Rs 9,800 in the case of Malaysian migrant workers. In other countries, the fee was between Rs 3,500 and Rs 6,500.
Now, the government has fixed the same medical fee for foreign employment in any country where the government has granted work permit. Medical practitioners have said that this initiative is positive.
