Minister Poudel made this arrangement by making a ministerial decision on Sunday. ‘Despite the provision in the Health Insurance Act, the Health Insurance Fund is not active yet,’ he said, ‘That is why it has been decided to deposit 1 percent of the income of federal hospitals in the fund to make the Health Insurance Fund active.’

This decision by Minister Poudel will help the Health Insurance Board obtain additional resources. Until now, the Health Insurance Fund was not active, so the Insurance Board had been receiving funds from the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Finance has also given its consent to the Ministry of Health’s plan to activate the Health Insurance Fund.
