Kathmandu. The average non-performing loan (NPL) of 20 commercial banks has increased.
The banks released the last fiscal year 2081. According to the financial statement of 82, the average NPL of banks has increased to 3.53 percent. Last year 2080. The average NPL in 81 was 3.15 per cent. Compared to the previous year, the average NPL of banks increased by 12.07 percent in the review year.
Of the commercial banks, 12 have seen an increase in non-performing loans and eight have decreased. The lowest was recorded by NPL Everest Bank at 0.38 per cent, followed by Himalayan Bank at 7.28 per cent.
According to the financial statement, Nabil Bank’s NPL was 0.95 percent, Global IME Bank 1.23 percent, Nepal Investment Mega Bank 1.35 percent, NMB Bank 1.37 percent and Standard Chartered Bank 1.47 percent in the review year.
Similarly, In the last fiscal year, Siddhartha Bank’s NPL was 2.62 percent, Sanima Bank 3.01 percent, Agriculture Development Bank 3.26 percent, Nepal ABI Bank 3.35 percent, Rastriya Banijya Bank 3.59 percent and Machhapuchhre Bank 3.83 percent.
In the review year, Laxmi Sunrise Bank’s NPL was 4.25 percent, Nepal Bank 4.47 percent, Citizens Bank 4.94 percent, Prabhu Bank 4.94 percent and Prime Commercial Bank 5.56 percent.
Similarly, NIC Asia Bank has 6.28 percent and Kumari Bank 6.42 percent NPL.
