Kathmandu. The General Insurance Council, an umbrella body of non-life and reinsurance companies, has made an important announcement to make the campaign of insurance for all a success in India by 2047.
A meeting of the Council on Tuesday decided to spend at least 4 billion Indian rupees (Rs 6.4 billion) in the insurance awareness campaign in the next three years to expand the reach of insurance in the country.
According to the Asian Insurance Post, the 44-member council, including GIC Re and foreign reinsurance branches, launched the campaign at a cost of Rs 1.5 billion with the motto of ‘Achche Ga Accha Kiya Bima Liya’.
Targeting over 800 million Indians, including those living in deep rural areas, the campaign was launched during the last Indian Premier League season’s cricket match.
The Life Insurance Council is also planning a nationwide advertising campaign to spread awareness about life insurance plans.
