Kathmandu. Nepalis will not be allowed to bring Indian rupees from countries other than India.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a notification prohibiting Nepalis from bringing money from countries other than India. The central bank has also made it clear that Nepalis will not be able to take money to other countries.

Similarly, according to the notification published in the Nepal Gazette on January 2, 2016, no one can transact, transport and trade notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 in circulation before November 9, 2016 and keep, transport and trade notes of Rs 200, 500 and Rs 2,000.

Similarly, nepali and foreign nationals will bring in cash up to US$ 5,000 (up to US$ 5,000 in the case of rupees and up to US$ 5,000 in case of other foreign currencies that do not publish the exchange rate by the Rastra Bank) without the declaration of customs.

According to the central bank, in the case of more than US dollars 5,000 rupees, there is a provision to declare the customs and certify it.
