Kathmandu. Nepal SBI Bank Limited organized a seminar on ‘Navigating FATF Evaluation – Best Practices’. The program emphasized the effective implementation, collective efforts, and institutionalization of AML-CFT measures to be taken in preparation for Nepal’s FATF assessment.

Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. The meeting was attended by Director General of Department of Money Laundering Investigation Gajendra Kumar Thakur, senior officials of various government and law enforcement agencies, executive directors and officials of Nepal Rastra Bank, chief executive officers of commercial banks and senior officials of other related institutions.

Deputy Governor Dr. Neelam Dhungana Timsina talked about the importance of the seminar and the FATF assessment of Nepal and highlighted the role to be played by banks and financial institutions.

The program was facilitated by Ram Krishna Susarla, former State Bank of India official and AML-CFT and compliance expert. During the event, he highlighted the international practices and perspectives useful for Nepal’s financial sector.

Mr. Ram Kumar Tiwari, MD & CEO, NSBL, Mr. Bikash Anand, Deputy CEO & COO, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Panda and other senior officers of the bank were also present during the program.

At the end of the program, the program concluded with a commitment to strengthening Nepal’s AML-CFT framework through adherence to global compliance standards, emphasizing mutual coordination among stakeholders.
