Kathmandu. Nepal Life Insurance is leading a ‘Project Care’ campaign for cleanliness in the Everest region.
The ‘Project Care’ campaign was announced at a press conference held in Kathmandu on Thursday. This campaign will be run in collaboration with the Everest Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) and Nepal Life and Round Table Nepal.
At the event, Nepal Life CEO Pravinaraman Parajuli said that he was very happy to be running this campaign in collaboration with the SPCC. ‘Sagarmatha is not only a national pride but also an international pride,’ he said, ‘Thousands of people move around in the Everest region.’
CEO Parajuli said that since the accumulation of various types of waste materials in the Everest region is increasing along with the movement of people, there is a possibility that this natural disaster could occur. ‘That is why Nepal Life is going to launch a cleanliness campaign there in collaboration with SPC,’ he said.
CEO Parajuli said that in addition to waste management in the area, recyclable waste will also be recycled. ‘We believe that this campaign will help make the world’s highest peak more attractive.’
Parajuli says that the garbage piled up in the Everest region can heat up the surface and melt the snow, which can lead to avalanches. ‘The main objective of this campaign is also to prevent such disasters,’ he said, ‘not only the people of this region, but also insurance companies like us.’
CEO Parajuli said that the garbage collected from the Everest region will be brought to Kathmandu and recycled, and the rest will be destroyed. ‘We are confident that this great campaign will receive everyone’s support,’ he said.
According to CEO Parajuli, the beauty of Mount Everest has now attracted the attention of national and international bodies. ‘That is why Nepal Life is going to launch this campaign to maintain the beauty of Mount Everest,’ he said.
Under this campaign, Nepal Life will provide financial assistance of Rs 1 million for waste management in the Mount Everest area.
