Nearly 1.2 million passengers received service from Tribhuvan International Airport in three months

Kathmandu. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has airlifted more than 1.185 million passengers in the first quarter of 2025. This airport is the largest and busiest airport in Nepal in terms of flight capacity, number of passengers, number of aircraft and infrastructure.

According to the Civil Aviation Office, the airport handled 1,185,090 passengers in the three months from January to March. Of these, 600,361 took off and 584,729 passengers landed.

A total of 7,443 flights have taken off and landed at the airport. A total of 3,722 flights and 3,721 landings were reported from the airport.  According to the office, the number of flights and landings decreased in February compared to January and there has been an improvement again in March. According to data provided by the office, 2,458 flights were operated in January, 2,275 in February and 2,710 in March.

There were 1,228 flights and 1,230 landings in January, followed by 1,138 flights and 1,137 landings in February. Similarly, in March, 1,356 flights and 1,354 landings took place.

Apart from this, a large amount of goods have also been transported by air from the airport. According to the office, a total of 6,238,901 tons of goods were recorded. Of these, 3,651,885 tonnes are export goods and the remaining 2,587,16 tonnes are imported goods.
