Minimum wage revised after two years, minimum salary Rs 19,550

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has revised the minimum wages of workers and employees.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, the Ministry said that the minimum wage of workers and employees has been increased with effect from July 15 through a ministerial-level decision of July 15.

According to the Ministry, the workers and employees engaged in the monthly salary will get a minimum salary of Rs 19,550. Out of this amount, 12 thousand 170 rupees have been fixed as basic salary and the remaining dearness allowance has been fixed.

Prior to this, the government had fixed august 15, 2018 as minimum monthly wage of Basic Salary of Rs. 10,000 with effect from July 1, 2019. It was fixed at Rs 17,300 including Rs 10,820.

Similarly, the minimum wage has been fixed so that the daily wage workers will get a total of Rs 754 per day including Rs 470 as basic wages.

The minimum marks have been fixed so that the workers will get Rs 101 per hour. In the case of workers working only part-time, the salary has been fixed at Rs 107 per hour.

The Ministry has revised the minimum wage based on the recommendation of the Minimum Wage Fixation Committee. Section 107 of the Labour Act 2074 bs stipulates that wages should be fixed every two years.
