MetLife Foundation Pledges $9 Million to FIFA-Global Citizen Education Fund
New York. MetLife, a leading insurance and employee benefit financial services company, today announced that it will be a key partner in a new three-year partnership with Global Citizen, the world’s largest campaign to end extreme poverty.
Through this partnership, MetLife will leverage its long history and capabilities to ensure economic security, access resources, and build resilient communities, and contribute to further strengthening the Global Citizen movement and addressing the challenges faced by communities around the world. As a key partner, MetLife will drive transformational initiatives in education and economic empowerment through financial support, employee volunteer participation, and its global reach.
In addition, MetLife Foundation has pledged $9 million as a founding donor to FIFA-Global Citizen Education Fund. The fund aims to raise $100 million to help children around the world access quality education and sports. Educational support has been one of the cornerstones of the MetLife Foundation for nearly 50 years. By supporting financial, STEM learning, mentoring, and skill-coaching, the Foundation prepares students around the world for a brighter future.

MetLife will also strengthen Global Citizen campaigns around the world. This includes the historic Global Citizen Festival, which took place in New York’s Central Park today. It aims to bring together artists, activists and world leaders to tackle the world’s most pressing problems. In addition, MetLife will also contribute to the Global Citizen Now Action Summit.
