The company closed these accounts in the first six months of this year. Which the company has named spammy content.
The company aims to make the Facebook Feed more relevant, clean and authentic. Especially when content generated by AI is spreading so fast on social networking platforms that it has been flooded.
“These fake accounts allegedly wanted to take advantage of Facebook’s algorithms and audience area, for which they tried to create duplicate accounts of large content creators,” the company said. ’
“Action has been taken against 500,000 other accounts for wrongful activities,” the company said. These accounts were involved in comment spam, bot-like engagement and content recycling. ’
Meta said in its blogpost, “Meta has informed about the new policy to reward original content creators, especially creators who create unique images or videos. In addition, the company will now use technology to detect duplicate content and reduce its causes. ’
Meta’s action comes at a time when the company itself is working extensively on the AI infrastructure. Also, CEO Mark Zuckerberg plans to spend a huge amount of money to develop his supercomputing capabilities and launch his first AI super cluster next year.
