Maruti Suzuki launches ‘Dzire Hybrid’, great safety features and amazing mileage

Kathmandu. Maruti Suzuki also makes India’s best-selling sedan. Now the company is taking The Dzire to a global level.

The company has launched its popular sedan Dzire in the Philippine market as a ‘Dzire Hybrid’ in a new hybrid avatar. This hybrid Dzire has been launched at a starting price of Rs 13.20 lakh.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki launched a new third generation model of its Dzire in the domestic market. In this new sedan car, the company has given many major updates in addition to the new ‘Z’ series engine. It is the first car in the company to achieve a full 5-star rating in the Global NCAP Crash Test and comes with six airbags as standard. In the Indian market, its starting price is Rs 6 lakh 79 thousand (ex-showroom).

Talking about the new Dzire Hybrid, it has a combination of a hybrid engine and a CVT gearbox. In terms of look and design, it is similar to the current Dzire sold in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki is not providing sunroof with Dzire in the Philippines. Apart from this, it has a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder naturally aspirated Z12E engine. Which comes with hybrid technology.

The biggest difference between the Indian-Spec Dzire and the Philippine-Spec Dzire hybrid is in the powertrain. As the name suggests, there is no technology other than the stop-start system in the Indian specific model. On the other hand, the Dzire Hybrid introduced in the Philippines has a 12V SHVS (Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid Vehicle) system. It has a small 0.072 kWh battery pack. Which sends power to an electric motor of 2.19 kW (2.93 bhp). Which helps in torque assists and improves mileage.

The company has not made any official announcement about the mileage of Suzuki Dzire introduced in the Philippines. However, the company said that it will give better mileage compared to the regular model. In India, the manuel variant of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire gives a mileage of 24.79 km per litre, the CNG manual 33.73 kmpl and the petrol AMT variant 25.71 km per litre.

The Dzire Hybrid comes with features like 9-inch free-standing infotainment screen, push-button start, keyless entry, cruise control, auto climate control, rear AC vent, alloy wheel, LED headlight, fog light, LED tail light, chrome belt line. In the Philippines, Dzire is available at two trim levels, GL and GLX.

The sedan has six airbags, ABS with EBD function, electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold control, brake assist function, parking sensor, rearview camera, seatbelt pretensioner and 3-point ELR seatbelt with force limiter, childproof rear door lock, immobilizer, security alarm and high-mount stop lamp.
