Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising has said that the people themselves would be active in rebuilding the public structures damaged by the Genji movement.
Minister Ghising said that a campaign of ‘We Build Our Public Infrastructures Ourselves’ campaign would be launched for the reconstruction of structures damaged by the Parliament House, Singha Durbar, Supreme Court, among other structures. “A special fund will be set up for this,” he said, adding, “The fund will be established by the cabinet with the consent of the Ministry of Finance.” Nepalis living abroad are also expected to show their belongingness. We are the ones who make it, do as much as you can. I believe it will be useful. ’
Ghising stressed the need for direct participation of the people and local community in the reconstruction campaign and called on one and all to make the campaign a success. He believes that this initiative will help in speedy and transparent reconstruction of public infrastructures.
