The program was organized by the Nepal Insurance Authority, Life Insurance Association Nepal, Citizen Life Insurance, Non-life and Micro Insurance Companies, and Nepal Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office Lumbini Province, and the District Traffic Office Banke in coordination with the co-organizers.
The two-day program was held in Nepalgunj Banke, taking special initiatives to implement the proposal regarding accident reduction submitted by Safe Travel Nepal to the Lumbini Province Office.
The morning procession program was held on 23 Falgun, 2081 B.S. The program concluded with a corner meeting at 7 pm from Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City to Dhambojhi Chowk. The chief guest of the program was Prashant Bista, Mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City. About 2500 people participated in the program.
A secondary school level essay competition was held on the topic of traffic and the role of stakeholders in reducing road accidents, and 20 schools participated in the competition program.
The drivers, students and insurance company officials who were honored participated in the program, which was attended by DIG Dan Bahadur Karki as the chief guest. 70 drivers were honored at the program.
The head of the Nepal Insurance Authority Lumbini Province office provided information on accident insurance. The chief guest, DIG Dan Bahadur Karki, explained the causes of accidents, including road conditions, vehicle conditions, driver negligence, and passenger negligence.
Also, the program chairman, Krishna Prasad Belwase, President of Suraksha Yatra Nepal, thanked all parties who supported the program.
