Insurance claim of more than Rs 4.5 crore so far in riot damage, Shikhar has paid all the payments

Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies have so far claimed more than Rs 45 million in damage caused by the riots during the royalists’ protest in Kathmandu on March 15.

The Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has made public the data received from the insurers till April 15, 2018, adding that 50 claims have been filed in 12 insurance companies for the damage caused due to the riots. The claim companies have to pay Rs 45.96 million.

According to statistics, Shikhar Insurance has paid all the claims incurred due to the riots. The company has paid Rs 498,213 in five claims.

The national insurance company has claimed the highest amount of damage caused by the riots. The company has to pay Rs 12.7 million for two claims.

Siddhartha Premier Insurance has claimed the second highest amount. According to nea, the company has to pay Rs 7.67 million for eight claims. Siddhartha has already paid Rs 2.6 million for five claims.

Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has to pay Rs 7.54 million for seven claims. The company has so far paid Rs 202,000 for two claims.

Similarly, Neco Insurance has to pay Rs 5.2 million for four claims, Oriental Insurance Rs 4.75 million for one claim, Himalayan Everest Insurance Rs 2.2 million for two claims, National Insurance Rs 2.075 million for 11 claims and IGI Prudential Insurance Rs 1.738 million for six claims. IGI Prudential Insurance has already paid Rs 28,300 per claim.

According to nea, Nepal Insurance has to pay Rs 871,000 for one claim, Sanima GIC Insurance Rs 600,000 for each claim and Prabhu Insurance Rs 110,000 for two claims.
