Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has organized an insurance interaction programme at Naukunda rural municipality. The programme concluded on June 15. The programme was attended by the vice-chairman of the rural municipality, chief administrative officer, local farmers and representatives of insurers.
The program was conducted under the chairmanship of Rabindra Shrestha, Deputy Director of Insurance Authority. NeA’s statistician Basanta Prasad Bohara gave a presentation on the Nepali insurance market, the introduction of insurance authority, the purpose of insurance, the facts of insurance, the role of the local government in insurance, the support and ease that the Nepal Insurance Authority can provide to the local government.
On the occasion, vice-chair of the rural municipality said that although the scope of insurance was less this time, the municipality would remain committed to fulfill its duties in expanding the scope of insurance by recognizing the importance of insurance. He said that the problems seen in agriculture insurance would be resolved in coordination with the Association and Nepal Insurance Authority on double subsidy, claim payment, etc.
Deputy Director of The Authority in Nepal, Rabindra Shrestha, while informing about the insurance programs launched by various municipalities and provinces, said that the low income and backward people would easily get financial compensation for the loss of their lives and property if the good practices were followed by this municipality. He also said that nea is ready to coordinate and cooperate regarding the insurance services required by the municipality.
